Something different will be shown on our Throwback Thursday series. A real adventure that was done in 1998. Windsurfing from Canada to England! One of them was @jacepanebianco from the well know @poorboyzproductions. At the time Jace was 18 and this is his memory of it in short ;-) ‘You have to remember that the T.A.W.R 1998 was in a much different time. The technology for finding a missing sailor was pretty basic- I mean they gave us a reflective Kite! I remember the first race I did sailing so far away from the mothership that it became just a speck on the horizon. I tried my radio, got no answer- I felt really alone. It really gave me, as a 18-year-old kid motivation to sail fast to catch up! Most of all I remember the Royal Marines who drove the rescue boats, they seemed like characters out of a action movie- none of the crazy stuff that was happening seemed to phase them. Not the crazy swinging boat launch from the crane, not even getting squashed by the mothership while trying to get us onboard. I remember the seas being so big that I saw the massive propeller of the Kalebnicov come out of the water!
